The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium entitled ((Breeding and Care of Ornamental Birds in Homes)) in which Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Kadhim Hussein lectured with the participation of a number of university employees and alumni, and the free conference call program.
The symposium aims to familiarize the participants with the importance of raising ornamental birds in homes and methods of caring for, treating and preserving them from transmissible diseases.
The scientific symposium included addressing the most basic matters in education and care, which included the most important types that can be raised at home while providing the appropriate place for them and the correct way of feeding and care
She touched on the most important precautions necessary to avoid the transmission of common diseases between birds and humans, including, in particular, parrot disease (Chlamydiosis) and Avian Influenza, in addition to fungal and parasitic diseases, with the need to take veterinary health consultations to ensure the safety and health of these birds.
