The Department of Information Technology at the University of Karbala organized a training workshop on health risks and harms resulting from addiction.The workshop was able to explain the nature of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as the symptoms of an addicted person and how to identify them, in addition to explaining the concept of addiction, its causes, harms and negative effects.The main objective of organizing the workshop is to activate the national strategy for drug prevention and prevent the spread of addiction, and to develop ways to contain this phenomenon and reduce its effects on the individual and society.The workshop recommended the need for community members to assume their responsibility to limit the spread of drugs, and the importance of humanitarian organizations and civil society organizations taking their role in holding educational seminars about the dangers of drug addiction to avoid it.
