The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a symposium on radioactivity in food and ways to prevent it, with the participation of a group of primary studies students and some interested people. The three-day course aims to introduce radioactive contamination in food and the effects resulting from the consumption of contaminated food. The course included a number of dialogues, including introducing the participants to both natural and industrial sources of radiation related to medical and industrial applications of radiation, how radioactive materials leak and accumulate on the surface of food, and identify the factors on which the harmful effects of radioactive materials depend. The symposium also introduced the constitutional articles that stipulated the right to public health and environmental protection.
