The Faculty of education for Humanities at Karbala University hosted a discussion of a master’s thesis in the Department of Applied Geography marked by( spatial analysis of retail trade centers in the city of Najaf).
The study aims to unveil the justifications that led to the emergence of retail trade centers in the city of Najaf, as well as to identify the suitability of the spatial distribution of retail trade centers at the level of neighborhoods sectors of the city and the number of residents of each neighborhood.
The study showed that there is a clear discrepancy in the population density in the study area from one neighborhood to another due to weak city planning procedures, as well as the growth of commercial services and their spread in a north – west-south-east direction in line with the extension of the main streets extending from the north of the area to the South.
