The Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Salah Abd al-Sattar, succeeded in performing a rare facial restoration operation at the Iraqi Board Center. The operation was performed on a 6-year-old girl who was suffering from atrophy of the parotid gland, the jaw joint, and the muscles and tissues associated with the middle ear and ear. This case is considered one of the rare genetic cases, as the doctor was able to raise one of the ribs and cartilage and implant them in the jaw joint, as the cartilage of the rib cage is the center of growth in the face, which has achieved integrity in the face. The operation was performed at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center in Imam Hussein Medical City, while the patient was discharged in good health after two days of hospitalization
